Kate Middleton’s Primary Official Portrait Unveiled.

Duchess connected with Cambridge Kate Middleton and Prince William visited the National Portrait Gallery in London today with the unveiling of her primary official portrait.

Award-winning artist Paul Emsley painted Middleton against his trademark black background that has a slight smile, framed through her long locks.

Emsley said he wanted to capture Middleton’s natural elegance. Emsley said he was originally planning to paint the mother-to-be with no smile, but changed his mind soon there after meeting her.

“I think it was the best choice in the end to have her smiling. That’s really who she actually is, I think, ” stated Emsley, who was born in Scotland and spent my youth in South Africa.
Emsley furthermore took liberties with Middleton’s eye color, changing it slightly to complement the blouse she is wearing inside the painting.

While the painting reveals a far more mature Middleton, art critics usually are slamming Emsley’s work, saying it looks nothing like her.

“Seriously, as a concept, what is it? It’s being a giant Polaroid. Like she went in a photo booth and got that picture taken and blown up to huge size it would look about the same, wouldn’t that, ” Waldemar Januszczak, art critic with the Sunday Times, said.

Middleton, thirty-one, sat twice for the portrait – once throughout May and again throughout June. She reportedly described the job as “amazing, ” adding, “I thought it seemed to be brilliant. ”

William stated, “It’s absolutely beautiful. ”

It turned out a rare appearance with the Duchess of Cambridge, who was simply released from the medical in December, as she battles severe morning sickness referred to as hyperemesis gravidarum.
