WikiLeaks to launch 1 million new documents.

WikiLeaks is preparing to release more than a million documents next year, this controversial website's founder said Thursday night.

Julian Assange did not provide specifics about their contents but said they "affect every country on earth. "

He spoke from the balcony of the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where he's got been holed up for like six months now. Ecuador's government granted him asylum in August, but British authorities have said they may arrest him if he simply leaves the premises.

"I came in summer, " Assange said. "It is winter now. "
Assange said he cannot leave given that authorities continue to investigate his case.
"This building... has become our home, my office and our refuge, " he said. "Thanks to the principled stance of the Ecuadorian government and the support of its people, My business is safe in this embassy. "

Assange fled to the Ecuadorian Embassy in June avoiding extradition to Sweden, where he is now wanted for questioning over allegations that he raped one woman and sexually molested a different. Assange has said he worries Sweden will transfer him to the united states, where he could face the death penalty with the work of WikiLeaks if he were charged and convicted of the said crime.

He has repeatedly said this allegations in Sweden are politically motivated and tied to the work of his web page, which facilitates the publication connected with secret documents.

Assange has not been charged in the us, though Assange and his fans claim a U. S. grand jury may be empanelled to consider charges versus him.

"My work will not necessarily be cowed, " Assange claimed Thursday. "But while this wrong investigation continues, and while the Australian government will not likely defend the journalism and publishing of WikiLeaks, I must continue being here. "
