Youtube rejects White House request to be able to pull anti-Islam film clip.

The search engines Inc rejected a request through the White House on Friday to reconsider its decision to keep online a controversial YouTube movie clip that's ignited anti-American protests in the middle East.

The Internet company said it was censoring the video in Asia and Indonesia after blocking that on Wednesday in Egypt and also Libya, where U. S. embassies are actually stormed by protestors enraged over depiction on the Prophet Mohammad as a fraud and philanderer.

Hit by spiraling tide of anti-American protests in the Muslim world, the White House had asked Google-owned YouTube to examine continued uploading of a controversial film deemed offensive to Islam.

Holding the video as primarily responsible for the violent anti-US protests in the middle East and North African countries, the Obama administration has told the YouTube to view if it was in compliance because of their terms of use.

"We reached out to Vimeo to call the video thus to their attention and asked them to examine whether it violates their terms people, " National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor said.

However, officials emphasised that i thought this was not any move to obstruct the controversial video.

At once, the US reiterated its determination to freedom of expression and speech and declined to take any action against banning or blocking this video, akin to that particular of several countries like Asia, Pakistan and Indonesia.

On Wednesday, the US Ambassador to Libya and also three other Americans were killed in a very fiery siege on the embassy within Benghazi.

Google said was further restricting the clip to stick to local law rather than as a response to political pressure.
