US filmmaker says he won't resume besieged home.

A filmmaker associated with an anti-Islamic movie inflaming protests across the Middle East said following an interview with police that would not return in order to his home, possibly heading in hiding, authorities said.

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, fityfive, was interviewed by federal probation officers for about an hour at the station shortly soon after 12am in his hometown associated with Cerritos, California, said Steve Whitmore, spokesman to the Los Angeles County sheriff's office.

After that, deputies dropped Nakoula off at an undisclosed location.

"He is fully gone. We don't know where they went, " Whitmore said.

"He said he could be not going back to his / her home. "

Federal officials are investigating whether Nakoula, who have been convicted of financial crimes, offers violated the terms of his / her five-year probation. If so, a judge could send him time for prison.

Nakoula went voluntarily to the station, wearing a coat, loath, scarf and glasses that obscured his appearance. His home have been besieged by media for many days.

Whitmore said Nakoula had not been handcuffed and the heavy clothing was his idea.

The probation department is reviewing true of Nakoula, who pleaded no contest to bank fraud charges this season and was banned from using computers or the internet or using false identities during his sentence.

Whitmore did not disclose other specifics of the interview.

A federal law enforcement standard said authorities had connected Nakoula into a man using the pseudonym associated with Sam Bacile who claimed earlier being writer and director of the film.

Violent protests set off because of the film in Libya played a task in the attacks in Benghazi of which killed US Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other American officials.

Anti-US mob protests have since spread to several other countries.

Leaders of Egyptian Coptic and Muslim communities from New Jersey and Ny city and its suburbs gathered in a mosque Saturday in a display of unity.

The group, conference in Jersey City, New Hat, expressed pain over the wave of protests and appealed for calm.

"Those who did this (film) will not be Christian, " the Rev. Jesse Bebawi, a Coptic priest, told the gathering around 30 leaders. "Those who killed the American ambassador and others are not Muslim. "

A organiser of Saturday's event, Egyptian-born Muslim Ahmed Shedeed, said being a community with deep roots in the united states, many are struggling with a selection of emotions.

"There is an agony in the neighborhood, there is turmoil over this specific happening, " Shedeed said.

"It's something many of us have to face as some sort of united Egyptian community and make certain those looking to pull us apart usually do not succeed. "
