Samsung is just about to produce full HD AMOLED features, won’t switch to LCD.

Gossips emerged recently about Samsung thinking of a switch to LCD technology for its top quality smartphones, due to the limited resolution that AMOLED displays can do.

According to a ZDNet Korea statement, Samsung would have trouble making full HD (1920 x 1080) AMOLED features, which prompted the Korean conglomerate to think about using LCD panels, which don’t have problems with the same limitations. The community rivals from LG Display, too, as Japan Display (a range between Sony, Hitachi, and Toshiba) have recently showed off previews of full HD panels.

Now, DDaily. company. kr claims that Samsung Technology was courted by Japan Screen, which offered samples of the 5-inch full HD LCD systems, but SE preferred to stick to using AMOLED displays provided through its sister company Samsung Screen.

After considering elements like price tag, yield rates, and production functions, Samsung Electronics decided that it might continue fitting its flagship cell phones with AMOLED screens. To ensure the desired production capacity, Samsung Display uses a modified version of the FMM (fine metal mask) making process.
The perspective of 1920 a 1080 AMOLED displays is mouthwatering. On the flip side, if Samsung Display will face problems in ramping in the production, it might cause delays or setbacks in the release of next year’s Universe S4 and Galaxy Note 3.
