How Premature Birth Is related to One of the Causes regarding Cerebral Palsy

Premature birth also known as preterm means the birth of your baby before the completion from the normal period of pregnancy. It means giving birth to a baby prior to completion of 37 or 44 weeks of pregnancy. The actual cause of preterm is not yet known but there are lots of factors that can induce preterm birth. Premature birth can cause quite a few medical complications in babies which have been born preterm especially before your completion of 37 weeks. Though preterm birth does not required lead to cerebral palsy but it is among the causes of this medical disorder.

Brain injury or damage may be the major cause of Cerebral Palsy a brain disorder marked by having less body and muscle control especially throughout the limps. Brain damage can occur in several ways including premature birth. There are two different methods through which brain damage may appear in premature babies, namely, infections causing brain damage and deficiency of oxygen.

Lack of Oxygen

The lung is definitely an important organ of the body whereby the body takes in oxygen and provides out carbon dioxide. This sponge like organ does not develop on time. It is among the organs of the body that develops throughout the last stage of pregnancy. However, the aforementioned does not mean that just about every premature born baby must experience cerebral palsy. It is only saying that preterm born babies are definitely more liable to suffer from cerebral palsy than babies which have been delivered after the normal pregnancy length.

Though improvement in obstetrics provides reduced the cases of preterm birth and cerebral palsy, pregnant women should make every effort to avoid preterm birth in order to lessen the risk of brain harm and cerebral palsy. However, in cases where preterm is unavoidable, every known medical steps must be taken to help the babies lung develop fully. This will assist you to avoid lack of oxygen which can bring about brain damage. Pregnant women should try to manage themselves of every infection to will not cause problem to their babies.
